Meet Rev. Dr. Branham
Dr. Lesa Branham is a lifelong Springfield resident and a dedicated community leader with a strong background in public relations, recruitment, education, outreach, and finance. She holds a Master’s Degree in Public Administration from the University of Illinois in Springfield and recently earned a Doctorate in Ministry from Liberty University, specializing in Spiritual Formation. Known for her commitment to inclusion and community engagement, Dr. Branham has led numerous projects, including a partnership with HSHS to commemorate the 1908 Springfield Race Riots archaeological site.

Her community service includes serving on the Boards of Directors for Habitat for Humanity and the King’s Daughters Organization (KDO), where she supports housing and charitable initiatives. She has also served on the boards of St. John’s Hospital, Illinois Women in Rising (Founding Board), Sangamo Club, Land of Lincoln Workforce Alliance, St. John’s School of Nursing and the Illinois Secretary of State Community Advisory Board. A former board member of Big Brothers Big Sisters and the Illinois Coalition Against Sexual Assault, Dr. Branham’s dedication reflects a passion for fostering positive change through collaboration and inclusive leadership.
Since February 2022, Dr. Branham has served as the lead pastor at First Congregational United Church of Christ in Springfield, Illinois, where she is committed to serving the church and the surrounding Leland Grove community with a vision of hope and transformation.
